Aging Gracefully with Consciousness

This week's Beauty of the Week is Barbara Loure`Gunn.  Barbara is 72-years-old and has a very big heart. Her goal is to inspire others to be the best that they can be by sharing her experiences. She is the mother of three, a grandmother, and a twenty-year cancer survivor. One of her passions is writing her blog Subconscious Messages. She is also the author of the books A Gathering of Spirit, and Wake Up!

Barbara has this to say about aging gracefully:

What keeps me young?

Ignoring the fact that my birth certificate says I’m 72.

Hanging out with souls of all ages, especially the young.

Regular exercise, walking is free.

Eating healthy (mostly), I seldom eat red meat, fried or processed food.

Most important is honesty and a sense of humor.

What motivates me?

Being grateful for the gift of life.

A “conscious “quest to use every opportunity to evolve my soul.

A desire to share my experiences through my published books and inspirational blog.

My three children were born over a 20 year period so I believe I have earned the right to do whatever I want whenever I want to do it.

Barbara you absolutely have!

Thank you so much for being this week's Aging Beauty :-)

  2. Louise,

What a beautiful write up on Barbara!

I love her pic too, so pretty!

I have had to pleasure to meet her on facebook and also am currently reading both of her books you posted.

Barbara is a wonderful writer who has beautiful spiritual gifts!
    Her books are a must-read!

She has a wonderful sense of humor as well.

I will be reading about something deep and spiritual in her books and suddenly she will throw in some humor unexpectedly and get you laughing hard in the midst of her wonderful writing!

She does inspire others as she inspired me to a blog. Thank you Barbara!

I love Barbara's take on what keeps her young....'to ignore that her birth certificate says she is 72'.....very funny! Perfect!

Thank you for this post on Barbara.
    It is beautiful!

    xoxo

  3. Thanks Maria for your kind words.
I need to make a comment about the availability of my books, especially Wake Up!, which will be out of print in September. I have copies of both books taking up space in my closet. If anyone wishes to purchase a signed book please contact me at begunn37@q.com and we will "talk"!

  4. What a wonderful choice for your aging beauty, Louise!! I too met Barbara on facebook and have enjoyed her honesty, wisdom and spiritual experiences immensely. I also enjoy her beautiful writings on her blog! I couldn't agree with you more, Barbara, that "hanging out with souls of all ages keeps us young." I find that hanging out with older women keeps me young because I find so much soul in our conversations:) Lovely photo of you too! xoxoxo
